About Isaiah

Isaiah Kauka Sabey currently serves on the Makiki Neighborhood Board, and is employed with the Department of Education as a Music Resource and English Language Learner teacher. He has taught 11 years at the high school, middle and elementary school levels.

Isaiah's love of music was inspired by both his father and grandfather, John Louis and John Samuel Sabey, which they both played fluently on the piano and entertained many throughout Honolulu and Waikiki. Isaiah has a M.Ed (Masters in Education degree) in Secondary Education, a BA (Bachelor of Arts degree) in Music and an AA (Associate of Arts degree) in Liberal Arts.

Isaiah is actively involved with feeding the homeless people at Ala Moana Beach Park through Open Door Chrisitian Ministries each Saturday. He also directs the 40 Days for Life campaigns and has initiated Life Chains in Honolulu. Isaiah formerly served as Cub Master and Den Leader for Pack 12 cub scouts for 5 years.

Isaiah believes in “Honor, Integrity, and Family Values” and is committed to “Standing Together with You!” His heart is to hear your concerns and represent you, the people of Makiki. Isaiah is happily married to Hee Soon Sabey for 14 years. Both Hee Soon and Isaiah are proud parents of two children: Isaiah Jr. and Hannah.
